The unexpected death of ‘Kaanta Laga’ fame Shefali Jariwala has left the entertainment industry in deep shock and sorrow. The 42-year-old actress’s sudden passing has sparked an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues alike. According to police sources, a post-mortem has been conducted, but the cause of death has been withheld for now and marked as ‘reserved’.
Shefali’s personal life was no no less than a film story. In year 2014, she married TV actor Parag Tyagi. The two met at a common friend’s dinner party, and after dating for about four years, they both got married.

Her last rites were performed on June 28 and the ashes were immersed on June 30. But, doubts about the actress death remains same. In such a situation, doctors suspected that her death could be due to low BP, because she had not eaten anything that whole day. However, it will be clear what the reason was only after the post-mortem report comes out, which is likely to come in two days.
According to an initial report from the Amboli Police, Shefali Jariwala’s death may have been caused by low blood pressure. A doctor, as cited by the Free Press Journal through an Amboli police officer, indicated that low BP is suspected to be the possible cause of her death.
What happened that day?
The officer stated that statements have been collected from approximately 10 individuals, including Shefali Jariwala’s husband, her parents, and the household staff. It was revealed that a Satyanarayan Puja was held at her residence on Friday, during which Shefali had observed a fast and did not eat anything until 3 p.m. Her parents, who live in the same building — Golden Rays in Shastri Nagar, Lokhandwala, Andheri West — left approximately 30 minutes after the puja concluded.

According to this report, the actress ate some food prepared a day before and then fainted a few hours later. According to the police officer, Shefali’s chef revealed that the actress had eaten food from the refrigerator sometime after 3 p.m. Later, around 10:30 p.m., she suddenly collapsed in front of her husband, other family members, and the house help. Her husband immediately took her to the hospital, but she died before treatment could begin there.
Shefali Jariwala was taking anti-aging tablets
Not only this, the police found in the investigation that Shefali was taking anti-aging tablets. During the investigation, anti-aging tablets, vitamin tablets and skin glow tablets were found in two boxes from the actress’s house. A police officer said that they found these tablets and other supplements from her flat.
According to Shefali’s family, she was taking medicine for a long time. No formal complaint has been lodged by the family yet. As per the procedure, the police have registered an accidental death report and as per the provisions of the Indian Justice Code, a forensic team has been called to the spot, which is actively investigating the cause of her death.
Team of doctors conducted the postmortem
A team of government doctors performed the postmortem on Shefali Jariwala’s body and, as per protocol, also recorded the procedure on video. The intestines of the actress have been preserved from her body. To know the exact cause of death, it has also been sent for chemical examination to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Kalina, Mumbai.
However, police officials have said that doctors suspect that due to fasting and taking medicines during the fast, her blood pressure may have dropped drastically, which may have led to cardiac arrest.
When will the postmortem report come?
The police officer says that the postmortem report is yet to come, which may take two to three days. But the intestinal transplant of the actress can last for a long time, which may take 50-90 days. The police have documented statements from Shefali Jariwala’s husband, family members, household staff, close friends, and a total of 14 relatives as part of the investigation. But no one has complained of any foul play or suspicion of an unnatural cause.

In a recent conversation with Vicky Lalwani, actress and close friend Pooja Ghai shared emotional insights into the final moments of the late Shefali Jariwala. During the emotional conversation, Pooja revealed that the exact cause of Shefali’s sudden demise will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report is released.
Sharing what she learned from Shefali’s family and her husband Parag Tyagi, Pooja said that a Satyanarayan Puja had been performed at Shefali’s home the day before her passing. “When we arrived for the last rites, the house was still beautifully decorated from the puja,” she said. “Everything seemed perfectly normal. The family had their usual meals, and later, Shefali asked Parag to take their dog for a walk.”
However, things took a tragic turn shortly after Parag stepped out. “As soon as he went downstairs, the housekeeper rushed to him and said, ‘Didi is not feeling well,’” Pooja recounted, marking the beginning of the heartbreaking sequence of events that followed.

She explained that Shefali and Parag’s dog was quite old, which is why Parag asked the house help to bring the dog downstairs instead. While Parag waited by the elevator, the helper returned and informed him that something was wrong with Shefali.
Alarmed, Parag rushed back upstairs. According to what he conveyed to the family, Shefali had a weak pulse, but her eyes remained closed and her body had become unresponsive. Realizing the severity of the situation, Parag immediately took her to the hospital.
Sadly, by the time they reached the hospital, Shefali had already succumbed.
